Eccentric viewing training
Severe central vision loss can make it difficult to read a word completely. Following mapping of the central visual field, our Orthoptist can develop a training package to teach clients which direction they should move their eyes, order to ‘see past’ central vision loss.
Training generally takes two initial assessments followed by weekly to fortnightly review, with research suggesting more than six training sessions for progress to be made. The goal is to allow you to read smaller font then later introduce magnification once your reading technique is refined.
